Fierce, beautiful, well-orchestrated all aptly describe Breakfast's "True Love Waits" - but nothing does it justice like the song itself. The deeply emotional ballad belted by the beautiful Andrea Adolph is enhanced by dramatic accordion and perfectly peppered ivory and ebony.
The clap breakdown is charming and cute, as is these seemingly young artists opining about how true love waits. Does it?
Its a summer Thursday - which means FREE shows at the Santa Monica Pier (The English Beat w/ Maxwell Smart) and Levitt Pavilion's (Christian Scott at McArthur Park, New Found Road in Pasadena). Locals The Neighbourhood pack Fonda Theatre and Lakers hero Kobe celebrates the release of Kobe Up Close at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live.
A list of more entertainment options is below the videos.

Hip hop comes in a lot of flavors and packages these days - and videos throwing back to 40s, blunts and bad broads usually a recipe for being on brand. B-Hoody's no average joe on the come up, the Nashville, TN MC's livemixtapes.com release Properly Preserved features a handful of solid tracks - including "Gwopanese." If you're not familiar with the soulful spark plug that is Gavin Turek - you can correct that by heading out to The Central SAPC tonight (or the 20th or the 27th). There's a lot of bite packed in her tiny frame - and her hybrid soul/indie/electronic music is pretty fierce. With features on Tokimonsta records, and mashups with Ratatat - she's clearly got stripes in the game. And with an aura and attitude that has you thinking she's an entertainer before she even opens her mouth - it's only a matter of time before she's one you've heard about.
Snag the War of Words (Crips Remix) that mashes Gavin with Ratatat here. SUPERGOOD is hosting the residency tonight - and Zak Waters, Amy Krebs and The Ross Sea Party round out the solid (and FREE) Tuesday night billing with DJ Freshair holding it down during set changes. Doors are at 7:30, music starts at 8. Hope to see you there...
The spooks of Halloween are basically upon us with a handful of events tonight to get your costumes dirty and your feet moving.
The weekly VS Party at The Central SAPC isn't a bad start - near lingerie like clothing is par for the course when it comes to attire, so a Halloween flavored dance party might step the naughty up a notch on the westside. Neither is the Billboard Conference wrap party hosted by Hunnypot at Vanguard - there will be music in two rooms, including the verbal venom of Nina Dioz, catchy indie rock of Das Tapes and more. Both events are technically free - although VS turns to paid entrance after 11.
If you're looking for headliners - look no further than Live Nation venues tonight. Matt & Kim make sounds bigger than their 2 person show at The Wiltern with support from Oberhofer. Over at Hollywood Palladium - Two Door Cinema Club gets into business with support from Friends and St. Lucia. We are proudly giving away tickets to both shows so email us at contest@supergoodmusic.com if you want in on the action or alternatively tweet out @supergoodmusic @livenationLA and either @thepalladium or @wiltern.
On the east side I like what Echo is putting down - upstairs the indie vibes of White Arrows, Kitten and Blondfire might capture your attention, but personally I'm drawn to the show downstairs at Echoplex with Goldroom as headliner. Rather than attempt to describe their eclectic sound - Goldroom is done justice by watching their video:
Other notable shows featuring up and comers include Bixel Boys at The Mint, TS & The Past Haunts at El Cid , Tropicool at Detroit Bar and Oona at Harvard & Stone.

Its a sexy autumn night in Los Angeles as the air is getting chilly and Chad Valley's vocals get shrilly at Its A School Night at Bardot. Chad brings his multiple talents as support for Nashville songwriter Erin McCarley, jazzed out indie act Monte Mar and Zac
Waters also play.
Flume begins a multiple day run through the LA streets with a DJ set on the

that.Another producer I like, DJ

Guitar licks of Kaki King can be heard at El Rey Theatre –
but if you’re looking to rock on a budget, Superhumanoids, Vum and Cayucas at The Echo would be my suggestion. Laughter? Russell Brand will put you in check at Largo.
