Tonight in L.A. (November 30, 2012)

Do the end of your month and start of your weekend right by going out to catch some live entertainment as there is PLENTY of it in Los Angeles tonight.  From another installment of No Doubt at Gibson Amphitheatre to Nas ruling the world with Lauryn Hill at Wiltern to Mike Dillon Band going go-go jungle dirty on drums at The Mint - many houses will be raging heavy tonight.

The aforementioned No Doubt get support from Fitz & The Tantrums and The Aggrolites making for a very special SoCal performance.

Recent Capitol signees Capital Cities throw down a friday night indie pop electro party at The Roxy, but for heavier electronics I'd recommend Simian Mobile Disco at Fonda Theatre.  The dance floor will be sweaty and packed for them and Dave P.  To get down to the hip hop of so cal visit Key Club for Fashawn and Strong Arm Steady, with support from FOCI and hopefully some surprise appearances (Murs is in town....).

L.A. is getting in this Friday night - from the celebration of Warren G's birthday at Key Club to cool kids vibes of RAC and Classixx at Lure - there is hopefully something for everyone.





Dubfiends, stoners and potheads can enjoy Iration, The Expendables and Cisco Adler at The Wiltern.  A cheaper substitute comes in the form of funk from The Monophonics at Harvelle's.



Beatards, dubsteppers and trap monsters might enjoy the OWSLA takeover at Avalon with Birdy Nam Nam, Monsta and Kill Paris.  If you're westside - consider hitting up the WeSC Concept Store between 4 and 7 when Kill Paris and Monsta get down.  OC - Rusko with UZ and Clicks & Whistles at The Observatory is clearly what you should be getting into.





Punky rockers might enjoy the sounds of METZ, Ceremony and Titus Andronicus at The Constellation Room.  Tilly & The Wall and Icky Blossoms at Troubadour will be a little more gentle on the ears.  For some hybrid rock - American Royalty and Blacks & Hindu Pirates at The Echo could be the solution or I Fight Dragons along with MC Lars and Skyfox at The Roxy.

No shortage of good music for Los Angelenos tonight - from a slate of rock shows that we're giving tickets away to (Cat Power at The Palladium; Delta Spirit at The Wiltern; The Kin at The Roxy) to the last of the filthy beats from UZ at La Cita, its a night to get it in.

The crooning sounds of Nick Waterhouse erupt at The Constellation Room with opening licks from Boogaloo Assassins.  Also in the O.C. - Classixx, RAC, Cosmic Kids and Jerome LOL make the indie kids dance at Detroit Bar.  GottaDanceDirty crew does the same at their Versus event at The Central SAPC.  Iheartcomix fans mash out with Mount Kimbie at Icon Ultra Lounge since Los Globos is temporarily closed for events.

Tonight in L.A. (October 25, 2012)

The spooks of Halloween are basically upon us with a handful of events tonight to get your costumes dirty and your feet moving.  

The weekly VS Party at The Central SAPC isn't a bad start - near lingerie like clothing is par for the course when it comes to attire, so a Halloween flavored dance party might step the naughty up a notch on the westside.   Neither is the Billboard Conference wrap party hosted by Hunnypot at Vanguard - there will be music in two rooms, including the verbal venom of Nina Dioz, catchy indie rock of Das Tapes and more.  Both events are technically free - although VS turns to paid entrance after 11.
