Los Angeles Tonight (May 29, 2013)

Rockers on the rise Imagine Dragons invade Hollywood Palladium for the first of two consecutive nights with help from Nico Vega and The Envy Corps on Wednesday.  West on Sunset you’ll find the soul of crooner Bilal at Roxy Theatre and emerging newcomer Jez Dior, whose "Candles" track you might remember from a few months back, at The Viper Room.    Junip, On and On and Barbarossa at Troubadour should deliver some tasty audible pleasures too.

Catching Dustbowl Revival close out their residency at The Mint will most definitely be a party – so if you like some raucous rooty blues and jazz, check it out.    Kastle’s eclectic and eccentric electronic stylings travel to Low End Theory at Airliner where he is joined by regulars Daddy Kev, Nobody and Nocando as well as Odd Future crew's Mike G.

We have tickets to give away for both Bilal and Dustbowl Revival - so hit us on twitter with a shout out or email contest@supergoodmusic.com to get in on the action.  Full list of tonight's shows below

Los Angeles Tonight (April 24, 2013)

It's hump day, so hump, but see some music first, you know, to get in the mood...

It's a relatively slow evening, and we'd say your best shot at a good time would be to go see Bass Drum of Death, Tijuana Panthers, and Beach Party at The Bootleg, if that's the mood you're looking for.  If not, well there's SKATERS at The Echo and The Armada at The Satellite.

Here's to hoping tomorrow is a bit more turnt up...

Tonight in L.A. - 9.26.2012 Concerts in Los Angeles

Enjoy your last Wednesday of September with the fresh sounds of Weapons of Audio, Peach Kings, Torches and Hey Champ at The Roxy.  Its an eclectic line-up – with the indie rock Outkast-esque Weapons of Audio leading it off and the synthesized pop tunes of Hey Champ closing it out.   The Peach Kings are a charming L.A. flavored indie rock outfit that are worth seeing more than once [she rocks  - promise ;) ] and I’ll be breaking my metaphorical cherry for Torches.  If you’re looking for a dosage of new(er) acts making quality music – head to The Roxy.  Want some free access? Get to twitter and tweet out @supergoodmusic @theroxy @weaponsofaudio @heychampmusic @thepeachkings to enter.  You could also buy tickets here.

Of course – there are other options too.  Low End Theory hosts Teebs and Astronautica for the beat scene and Iheartcomix presents Django Django, Vinyl Williams and HOTT MT for a party over at The Echo.

The Features with Army Navy at The Troubadour would be my second pick – you may be familiar with the Some Kind of Salvation Nashville infused indie rock styles that The Features are known for.  Well worth the cost of admission – as are The Killers at Fonda Theatre.

Dynamite Mash Ups This Wednesday

Go HAM with Kids & Explosions this Wednesday at The Central SAPC as the oscar-nominated mash-up artist Josh Raskin introduces you to his madness....which is kind of like an AP or Ivy League version of Girl Talk.  Kids & Explosions material is just superior to those pseudo standard schitzo pop mash-ups.   Here is a sample below...

If you like what you heard - enter our contest to win a pair of free tickets to the show by emailing contest@supergoodmusic.com or tweeting out @supergoodmusic @thecentralsapc and @kidsnexplosions.

Fitz & The Tantrums are COMING!!!!

Oh yes, WEDNESDAY night is almost here....which means it is less than 48 hours until Fitz & The Tantrums blow at least a few hundred peoples minds at El Rey Theatre.

You're hearing their music everywhere now, as a recommendation on a Sprint commercial (I think that is the commercial "Winds of Change" was in), to your homie's girlfriends I-Pod, to KROQ, to in your head when you are dreaming. Why? Cause their music is damn infectious.

Get sick to this....

LA Talent Gets You Through Hump Day - VCC Debut & Far East Movement on the Strip

Tonight there are a handful of things to do in L.A., with lots of local buzzworthy talent hitting stages. Chart topping Far East Movement is performing on The Tonight Show and also on The Sunset Strip - but both of those are probably tough to get into at this point in the game. Another show featuring L.A. residents and artists, Voxhaul Broadcast and Eastern Conference Champions, still has tickets available. That show is at Spaceland.

You may remember ECC from their recent residency at Spaceland and you may be familiar with the name Voxhaul Broadcast because they have basically been playing everywhere in L.A. recently - and have another well publicized gig coming up at LA Weekly's show at Gibson Amphitheatre on Sunday. BUT, rather than see them at the Gibson, I'd advise going the intimate route and catching them inside tonight. The show will certainly be more intimate and definitely cheaper.

Not only are Voxhaul Broadcast and Eastern Conference Champions teaming up to deliver a presumably riveting indie rock performance for the eastside, they've also put out a cover of The Violent Femmes "Add It Up" which you can download here. Maybe if you're lucky they will play it tonight and if you're luckier - you'll have gotten to see them play it for FREE.

Enter our ticket giveaway contest by commenting here or mentioning the show and @supergoodmusic on twitter. Winner will be selected before 6 pm.
