Locals Das Tapes Make Sure "This Party" Gets Out Of Control

What do you get when you throw a handful of old people into a warehouse gallery art room, white suits, two musicians, a fist fight and some table flipping? "This Party" by Das Tapes is what you get.

A fun, inexpensive music video from the new LA duo was recently released and is doing a lot to make my Monday morning feel like the weekend isn't quite over...

Skrillex Invasion

Tonight is the final throw down of Skrillex's LA Invasion - where he will be joined by Dada Life, Nadastrom and Benga. I'm sure some other heavyweights will be in the house, if not on the stage.

Trippy Justice Video

"ON'N'ON" video might scare you if you're on acid - or it might be the coolest thing ever. If you're sober - I suppose you could still have the same reaction. Massive effects, skeletons, colors and, justifiably, the members of the duo, and lots of explosions make it entertaining enough to get through.

Reminds me of Star Wars credits, The Never Ending Story and hallucinations. Plus, its got enough special effects that its not just your average music video.

Brit Star James Morrison at Sayer's Club Tonight

The sweet sexy voice of James Morrison is going to bring Sayer's Club to its knees tonight at an exclusive event - but maybe, just maybe, he makes a surprise appearance at Sayer's Club later at night with the house band?

Did you catch this Brit on TV last week? Seriously - he crushed it. I've never seen him live - but its hard not to recommend someone with a voice this good. SO - if you find yourself with some spare time late night and are willing to take the gamble - attempt going to the Sayer's Club and see if he appears with the house band. I'm taking a stab at it. Even if he doesn't - the house band is always good and they mix a great cocktail at Sayer's (...not saying its a cheap cocktail).

Here is a video of him performing earlier this month at Dominion in New York - the same spot we held our CMJ party!

Palter Egos & Barsh-Mellows at Del Monte Speakeasy

It hasn't been too long since Townhouse reopened their downstairs chilled out oasis, The Del Monte Speakeasy, but its fast become a westside music lovers spot of choice. The famed, sweaty, throwback bar in the basement of the Venice staple has been steadily heating up with a parade of artists that you would regularly expect to see at rooms like The Roxy, The Echo and The Mint.

Sunday January 8th is no different - with hot producer and keys-playing extraordinaire, Sam Barsh. Him and his Barsh-Mellow jam should ignite the Venice venue all night with sexy covers, original material from Sam's various projects - including new indie soul pop project Palter Ego, featuring him and Jesse Palter, and possibly even some of Barsh's newest productions that are slated to appear on Norah Jones' new record and Def Jam rapper Wax's mixtape.

This is the first of what hopes to be many Barsh-Mellow shows. His funky eclectic vibe is the perfect fit for Del Monte. RSVP to the show via the facebook event link here.

Scoop Deville Beasts Beats

Love beats? Go to Low End Theory tonight to catch acclaimed producer Scoop Deville - who is best known for his cut "I Wanna Rock" with Snoop. Scoop's 2011 didn't necessarily feature cuts with living room name talent like Snoop - but he's been on his grind and producing the hotness for the lesser known.

Earlier this year - Scoop worked on an EP with Young De, which included this track "What's Good?"

You can cop a download of "What's Good" here. Its a track off of the six cut Scoop and Young De project titled Neva Look Back EP - and resulted from several years of collaboration with other artists. Scoop Deville has worked with not only Young De and Snoop, but also 50 Cent, Fat Joe and others.

Scoop also does production work with some of today's studio greats - like Erick "Jesus" Coomes (bass; member of Lettuce) and others in this below video.

If you want to be wowed by beats and production - go check out Scoop Deville tonight at Low End Theory at Airliner Club.

Jhameel - "Shut Up" Video

Got to give it up to Jhameel for crunching out some of my favorite recent blends of indie, soul and pop. Mixing up flavors from Michael Jackson to Prince to Adam Levine (see his drunken videos below) - the young Asian indie rocker is generating real buzz.

Real happy to have had him play in L.A. as part of our SUPERDOPE concert series, and even happier to see that he kicked off 2012 delivering some goodies. That treat is his music video for "Shut Up," easily my favorite song of his from 2011. The video features a tasty vixen and lots of dust kicking. If you're not satiated - watch some of Jhameel's drunken covers of popular music below....5 O'Clock, Moves Like Jagger and Pretty Young Thing.
