The Hebrew Hova, AKA Kosha Dillz, AKA Rami Even-Esh, just premiered his video for "West Coast Flavor" on HipHopDX yesterday and the Koreatown resident is already getting love in the blogosphere. The video - shot and filmed here in LA - features food trucks and shots of Venice, and the song includes Big Pooh plus a solid beat and hook to to cruise around with the top down!
Hip Hop Heads, the 8th annual Paid Dues Festival is a mere two weeks away, do you have your tickets? If you don't you better get on it, because this year promoters Murs 3:16 and Guerrilla Union have put down on paper one of the most eclectic hip hop festival lineups that you will ever see, regardless of the year, place, or time.
It's going down on March 30th at the San Manuel Amphitheater in San Bernadino. The line-up and schedule are already up. In all there are forty acts participating in the fest including heavy hitters like Macklemore, Talib Kweli, Trinidad James, De La Soul, and Tech N9ne. We here at SUPERGOODMUSIC are pretty stoked about sets from Hopsin, Grouch & Eligh, Swollen Members, Killer Mike, Black Hippy, and of course, our favorite rapper and trippy aficionado Mr. Juicy J!
Let us know if you're going to be at Paid Dues and who you're looking forward to seeing in our comments section or on twitter @JamintheVan, and when you go to the festival, remember to wear sunscreen, cause literally everyone there will be "spitting hot fire!" - Dylon (who will not be on the line up)
What happens when you've got an amazing venue, a great sound and production team, and two weeks until your SXSW show date and absolutely no line up? You call SUPERGOODMUSIC and they come to the rescue like Ghostbusters.
With a couple years of SXSW shows under our belt, and some great family in the G Pen team and Allhiphop.com crew, we've recruited some serious heavyweights as well as emerging artists to perform at the GPEN & SUPERGOODMUSIC Present the Allhiphop.com Breeding Ground Showcase.
Local K. Paul paves the way on the main stage for No LImit Forever, Talib Kweli, Problem and Raekwon to get rowdy and the patio is going to be pretty amped too with the likes of Kosha Dillz, Sahtyre, Watch The Duck and G-Eazy!
If you're looking for a healthy dosage of hip-hop - this is the place to be Thursday night. RSVP to the eventbrite page here. DO NOT SLEEP ON THIS!!!!
Hip hop comes in a lot of flavors and packages these days - and videos throwing back to 40s, blunts and bad broads usually a recipe for being on brand. B-Hoody's no average joe on the come up, the Nashville, TN MC's livemixtapes.com release Properly Preserved features a handful of solid tracks - including "Gwopanese." Indulge - and then download here.
Its super real in 2013, which is why everyone should be getting "Higher" ... of course I mean this ill track by Just Blaze and Baauer. The traptastic anthem steps into the echelon of party music from its opening drops with vocal samples courtesy of Hova himself - Jay-Z. These two hot producers made sure underground clubs and dance floors will in fact be rocking with the best on their fiercely bass heavy track. If there was a dictionary that used songs rather than words for definitions - you'd find this under the entry "turnt up" - its just that filthy. Check it out and get your January playlists bumping hard.
Over the last several years I've had the opportunity to get to know MC Kosha Dillz and the privilege of watching his career and character evolve and blossom. The man also known as Rami Even Esh has come along way from the formerly incarcerated KD Flow. Graduating from freestyles and CD-R's to commercial releases in record stores and characters in video games.
2012 was quite the rollercoaster for Kosha Dillz - starting with a Super Bowl commercial and grinding through Paid Dues Festival, Warped Tour, Rock The Bells, tours with RZA, Matisyahu and Alex Clare, being in the BET Cypher and ultimately ending with what he does best - freestyles on stage. All of his traveling certainly took a lot of effort and money, and also provided a platform for a lot of content creation. Now he needs to edit all that content and he's reached out for donations so he can complete the documentary of his trials and tribulations - a film he calls Kosha Dillz Is Everywhere: The Hustle to Happiness.
Check out his clever Kickstarter video and then figure out if you've got a buck or two to send his way. His Kickstarter campaign is here.
Just discovered this ridiculously on point track from KRS One. The legendary rapper and founder of the Hip Hop Temple lets you know how to deal with hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados and all other weather shenanigans in "Disaster Kit." Listen to the lyrics - its like a freaking disaster instructional handbook.
The legendary KRS performs tonight at The Viper Room. Get tickets here.
Hopefully you're reading this close to a meal - because this video is definitely going to make you want some sushi....and probably take a trip to a warm beach. Budding producers (and twin brothers) Sherwyn and Kendrick Nichols, better known as Two Fresh, lay down a tropical syncopated hip hop beat that ZIGGURAT members Purpl Monk and Miyagi take verbal stabs at on "Aloha."
Indie groups using hip-hop producers to mix their records....I'm officially down with it after listening to heartsrevolution's "Not That Hard to Explain" and watching this trippy ass pill-aholic video. The famous Just Blaze delivers a healthy mix of an anthem for poppers and those that like to get weird. Its not on their soundcloud yet (other stuff is - check it out), but SUPERGOOD's officially getting weird to this...
Yesterday started off horribly - a classic series of calamities that make you say to yourself "what next?!?!?"
But - then, everything suddenly began to change tide and by the end of the day - I was singing some Doughboyz Cashout...."Good Ass Day." Its the latest SUPERHOOD anthem from the crew out of Detroit.
Cure your Halloween hangover with live music in Los Angeles tonight... The top choices are Kid Koala, Dan The Automator, Money Mark and more at The Echoplex and The VS Party at The Central SAPC with Destructo and friends. Both will feature well respected producers - The Echoplex just happens to be hosting the likes of individuals who worked with some of the best MCs of the 90s and a large part of the brains behind Handsome Boy Modeling School. If you've never seen Dan The Automator or Kid Koala - tonight is a good night to correct that error. On the westside, The VS Party is always the jam, but this week Destructo comes through and rumor has it lots of the HARD performers this weekend may be making appearances.
If you like apple bottom jeans, boots with the fur, or other pop-rap references - Flo Rida at San Manuel Indian Bingoand Casino might be worth your time. If you just want rap straight up and sag your pants - Hopsin, Dizzy Wright and SwizZz at The Observatory would be my recommendation.

Sunset Strip Music Festival 2012 is now well under way... A serious tribute to The Doors, which included Ray Manzarek playing a keys solo on "Light My Fire" as if he'd never play again, upped the bar on this still young festival. Joined by a parade of musicians including Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum, Mark McGrath, Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara), Linda Perry and Franky Perez - as well as Door's members Bobby Krieger and John Densmore - the third SSMF launched with a big blast off. Early close time at the Tribute meant other Sunset Strip enclaves opened their doors to the parade of festival-goers for the likes of Lady Sinatra at The Viper Room, Peter Murphy at The Roxy and more. Finding my way over to The Viper Room - Murphy's vocals pierced the air for a crowded house of rock fanatics and I got spent on a bit of a Roxy family celebration. Big shout outs to @nicadler for not only operating one of L.A.'s top venues and being so hospitable, but for also playing such an instrumental role in bringing the entire Sunset Strip Music Festival (@ssmf) together. Tonight Festival goers can grab a healthy dosage of hip-hop - from Hollywood scene rapper Mickey Avalon at The Viper Room to the Shaolin stylings of RZA at Key Club. RZA will be joined by rising Jewish MC and freestyle entertainer - Kosha Dillz - so make sure to get their early.... Peep videos from RZA, Mickey and Kosha Dillz here.

Saturday marks the launch of the 9th annual Rock The Bells Festival - as it returns to San Bernardino's NOS Events Center for the first of three weekends around the country. The hip-hop mega fest is slated to deliver a hefty dosage of current heavyweights, veterans and artists who are clearly on their grind.
From the opening words of Dom Kennedy on Saturday to the final verse from Nas on Sunday - Los Angelenos and hip-hop heads from far and wide can rejoice in a celebration of the culture and some undoubtable surprises. Some of those we can spoil for you - like the fact that BizMarkie will join DJ Lance Rock (of Yo Gabba Gabba), Saafir and Ras Kaas reunite wth Xzibit for a special Golden State Warriors performance and Psycho Realm opens up Paid Dues Stage! Staring into my crystal ball of festival forecasting - I also predict a few guest appearances from Travis Barker (Yelawolf), Kosha Dillz (some stage somewhere with RZA) and Chip Tha Ripper (Kid Cudi) are bound to happen....
The full official line-up includes all of the following: Kid Cudi, J Cole, DMX + Eve, Method Man + Redman, KRS - One, Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Golden State Warriors, Kid Ink, E-40 (& Too Short, Deltron 3030, Chief Keef, Machine Gun Kelly, Atmosphere, Killer Mike, El-P, Immortal Technique, Casey Veggies, Dipset, Kendrick Lamar (w/ Black Hippy), Common, 2 Chainz, Tyga, Yelawolf, Future, Dom Kennedy, Jadakiss, Wu Blok, Naughty By Nature, Curren$y, Prodigy, Zion I, Grouch, Eligh, Sean Price, Watsky, Black Knights, Salt-N-Pepa, DJ Quik, Big Daddy Kane, Mix Master Mike, DJ Lance Rock & Friends , I Self Devine, Slim Da Mobster, and Psycho Realm.
You can cop your tickets at www.rockthebells.com and check out a word about the festival from one of its creators - Chang Weisberg.

What you know about Boldy James? He chews up the Blended Babies beat on "One on One" and spits out quintessential midwest cool flow. Check out the single from the recent Decon label signee and anxiously await his future project produced by The Alchemist.

Iggy Azalea's finally put out something to follow up the down-under "Pu$$y" anthem that is worth talking about - "Murda Bizness," which features ad libs, breathing and a verse from her boss man T.I. The swag heavy ode to killing features a perked up toddlers & tiaras style music video that just dropped this week. Her EP, Glory, is expected shortly.
