Not going to the make it out to the desert to play with glow sticks tonight? Don't fret, there's plenty to do in LA and far less risk of dehydration.
Most venues in LA will also let you in with glow sticks, you know, if you want the ambiance. Like at The Mint for Elephant Revival, they're not going to tell you to put away your glow stick. Win tickets for that via our giveaways page by tweeting at us or emailing contests@supergoodmusic.com.
Glow sticks will most likely also be welcomed at the Passion Pit/Tanlines show at the Nokia Theater, or Savages at The Echo. Those shows are both sold out, so hit up the Craiglist yo... The full list of places you can take your glow sticks is below.
Do you like The Avett Brothers? The Lumineers? Heartless Bastards? Tallest Man on Earth? Bands that fall into that overly broad but in a good way "Americana" category? If so, then you may want to jump on The Last Bison bandwagon as soon as possible. Lucky for you we're giving away a pair of tickets to do just that at The Mint LA this Saturday, March 30. To win just tweet at "@SUPERGOODMUSIC, @JamintheVan, @MintLA, @TheLastBison #LastBison, or email us at Contests@SUPERGOODMUSIC.com with The Last Bison in the subject.
There's a good chance that this band, who is signed to Universal Music Group, takes off in the next year, so catching them in an intimate venue like The Mint might be worth its weight in "remember when" stories come next year. Dig on their video for a cover of M83's "Midnight City" as well as their full album over on their Bandcamp.
The launch of a shorter work week is never cause for too much excitement - but L.A.'s entertainment options tonight are. Fans of brass get a healthy dosage of it from Sexmob at The Mint for their special Sexmob Plays Fellini experience. We're dropping a pair of tickets on some lucky winner so tweet out @supergoodmusic @mintLA to join the action or just email contest@supergoodmusic.com.
For other eclectic sounds - consider French Horn Rebellion's live set at Dim Mak Studios, where they are joined by Blende and a few others. Ryat and Rainbow Arabia get sonically eclectic at Los Globos.
If you want to laugh til your face hurts - I must suggest Nick Kroll and Friends at Largo. If his show on Comedy Central remotely reflects what goes down live, you may want to wear a diaper...

Jam fans and piano aficionados would be doing themselves a service by going to The Mint tonight. Ivory and ebony virtuoso Marco Benevento takes to the stage at the Pico funk hub to lay down some thick jazz, granola tunes and the occasional party starter like "Limbs of a Pine." You may remember Marco from the Benevento/Russo Duo - but tonight's outfit should be a bit more eclectic, plus he is joined by Mike Dillon of Garage A Trois, Polyphonic Spree, Les Claypool's Flying Frog Brigade and more.
Its a magnificent night of music to close out the first month of the year as Dave Grohl celebrates his documentary with a Sound City Players performance at Hollywood Palladium, a free KRS-ONE show at Slidebar and the improvisation skills of Marco Benevento and Mike Dillon at The Mint.
If those legends weren't enough - there is a healthy dosage of beatsmiths and producers descending on LA venues tonight too. Free The Robots cuts up at Constellation Room while a pseudo Low End Theory crew celebrates the life of Austin Peralta at Del Monte Speakeasy when Daedelus, Teebs and Gaslamp Killer all lay down dope sets for the low cost of $5 entry (proceeds go to charity).

Its not your average hump day here in LA to end the first month of 2013 because of the artists playing in town. Its the end of a slamming guitar rocking residency at The Mint which featured Eric McFadden for five weeks and the appearance of the aging Who at Staples Center.
While Townsend and friends attempt to take a hefty crowd to a teenage wasteland, plenty of emerging artists will be stamping their identity on some LA sonic enclaves. Kyle Nicolaides pumps out emotional and sometimes dark songwriting at Room 5 Lounge, Lushlife,Groundislava and Zak Waters deliver a healthy and diverse set of local music flavor at The Echo, Antibalas gets a little tribal beat at Troubadour and Hot Buttered Rum jams some free bluegrass at Slidebar.
Other notables include Metalachi and Great White Buffalo at El Cid and Niki & The Dove at The Barn with Vacationer as support. Full list of Wednesday's shows below....

No shortage of musical options on this fresh Friday...but there is a shortage of music videos because SUPERGOOD is flying the friendly skies and videos don't load that quickly when your 30,000 feet in the air. Getting down in LA tonight are a host of talented artists - from the rhythmic beauty of Femi Kuti & The Positive Force to the wild cover energy of Hyper Crush, many of L.A.'s stages will be ignited with quality music. Of Mice & Men rock at House of Blues - Sunset STrip, Andrew Bird evokes emotions at Largo as does Kelley James at Key Club. For a fun sing along - consider the cover sounds of Black Crystal Wolf Kids at El Cid where they are joined by Ninja Betty & The Nunchix. If you want to dance dance dance - check Congorock at Avalon or Gladkill and Kastle at King King Club. Indie kids can enjoy The Dead Ships at The Satellite. Last but certainly not least - ultimate funksters, fans of Parliament, and Talking Heads heads should swing to The Mint to catch Bernie Worrell Orchestra and see the legend Worrell in the flesh!
