Tonight in L.A. (February 25, 2013)
Post Oscar hangovers give rise to the realization that it is actually a full work week this week. And while that seems daunting, finding some quality act to see this Monday night in Los Angeles is not. With some great residencies closing the books on their February run - it might be wise to catch those weekly parties before they change casts.
The Mowgli's enlisted The Diamond Light, Zak Waters, Lisa Donnelly and DJ Jason Kramer to end things at The Satellite on a high note. A House for Lions did the same by recruiting Max and The Moon, The Peach Kings and The Cerny Brothers. Dance party starter Mystery Skulls hauled in Ghost Beach, Gangplans and DJ Holloweyed to Bootleg Bar to end his run there.
Elsewhere Hunnypot Radio broadcasts out of The Central SAPC with a tasty set from rising indie electro pop rockers Mind The Gap, Del The Funky Homosapien drops some FREE raps on the Slidebar crowd, Jeff Garlin makes people laugh as he converses with Aziz Ansari at Largo and last but not least, Chief and Warships deliver a dosage of indie to It's A School Night at Bardot.

Tonight in L.A. (January 30, 2013)
Its not your average hump day here in LA to end the first month of 2013 because of the artists playing in town. Its the end of a slamming guitar rocking residency at The Mint which featured Eric McFadden for five weeks and the appearance of the aging Who at Staples Center.
While Townsend and friends attempt to take a hefty crowd to a teenage wasteland, plenty of emerging artists will be stamping their identity on some LA sonic enclaves. Kyle Nicolaides pumps out emotional and sometimes dark songwriting at Room 5 Lounge, Lushlife, Groundislava and Zak Waters deliver a healthy and diverse set of local music flavor at The Echo, Antibalas gets a little tribal beat at Troubadour and Hot Buttered Rum jams some free bluegrass at Slidebar.
Other notables include Metalachi and Great White Buffalo at El Cid and Niki & The Dove at The Barn with Vacationer as support. Full list of Wednesday's shows below....

Tonight in L.A. (December 18, 2012)
Holiday parties are slowing down, shelves are clearing as people buy last minute presents (anyone got ideas???), but the concert calendar hasn't slowed down just yet (it will next week).
A couple great bills exist in the Los Angeles ether tonight - most notably the rock party celebrating The Rolling Stones at The Satellite that features Chris Shiflett of the Foo Fighters as well as Dustbowl Revival, Brian Whelan and many more.
Hip hop heads get to enjoy How The Grouch Stole Christmas with The Grough & Eligh, Mistah F.A.B., Prof and DJ Fresh at El REy Theatre.
I like the free stylings of Zak Waters residency at The Central SAPC with Jhameel, who just finished up his own residency at Bootleg Theater last night. Both these guys are going places - and Zak is even appearing on Carson Daly's show when they air footage from an earlier residency show.
Check out a full list of shows below:

Tonight in L.A. (December 11, 2012)
It might be 10 days before the end of the world, it might be 1....or it could be Y2K all over again. Regardless, seeing live music is usually not a bad idea and tonight there are a few noteworthy performances worth checking out.
The talented, Grammy nominated Will Bernard brings his trio to The Mint for some amazing top notch jazz and jamming. If you want to go, but are strapped for cash - holler at us on twitter (@supergoodmusic and mention @mintaLA) or send email to contest@supergoodmusic.com because we have a few pairs of tickets to give away.
Also on the free tip - Zak Waters performs another residency show at The Central SAPC with help from Monte Mar and La Mer.
The hood will surely be intact and the party will be jumping as The Game celebrates the release of Jesus Piece at House of Blues on Sunset.
Indie rockers get major signed Atlas Genius at Troubadour for a sold out performance that also features Blondfire and Beat Club, as well as Magic Wands at Harvard & Stone and The Neighbourhood at Constellation Room.
Other notables include Chris Isaak at Club Nokia and Cass McCombs at El Rey Theatre. A full list of shows is below.
