The Chef Cooks Up Another Good Track

Chef Raekwon, the infamous 'ice cream' man, typically delivers butter smooth flow. This latest track with Kofi Black - "I Love Your Crazy" - has a sexy piano melody and hook and a consistent spit from the Wu Tang Clan affiliate.

Enjoy. And if you're in the 303 or 702 - you could catch Chef Raekwon, Kofi Black and more - including Freddie Gibbs - at Fox Theatre in Boulder tonight. We're giving tickets away - so email contest@supergoodmusic.com if you want them!

The Neighbourhood - "Sweater Weather"

The Neighbourhood - "Sweater Weather"

New Obsession - The Neighbourhood

Earlier this year, Pigeons & Planes, turned us onto a California groomed rock collective - The Neighbourhood - with the debut of a track titled "Female Robbery" and earlier this week they again delivered another treat from the group. This time "Sweater Weather" with a hook that proclaims you could hold hands through "the holes of my sweater."

Its catchy and nostalgic, been getting love from BBC's Zane Lowe and the video premiered on NME yesterday....plus the song charted to #1 on hypem.com. I'd say its been a pretty good stretch for the people in The Neighbourhood. Congratulations Jesse Rutherford and friends.

Blue Whale - Where Jazz Lives in L.A.

Have you been to the Blue Whale yet? If you're a musically inclined Los Angeleno - the answer to that question should be yes. Its a hot little enclave in the Little Tokyo area of downtown and most nights of the week you'd be impressed with the sounds emanating from inside.

This week the venue gets a visit from a budding young indie pop star I recently discovered, Jesse Palter. While you might be familiar with her from Palter Ego - where she pens and belts out indie pop soul with ease - apparently she has her own jazz quartet too. They've played Red Sea Jazz Festival, done gigs in Vegas and are not to be taken lightly. You can catch Jesse and her talented threesome that includes Mike Jellick (piano), Tim Lefebvre (bass) and Steve Hass (drums).

Here is one of Jesse's Palter Ego originals "Take Me With You."

Here are a couple of covers by Jesse's Palter Ego project, which also includes producer/player/writer Sam Barsh on keys. Gotye's "Somebody That I Used To Know" and Lana Del Reys' "Video Games." Palter Ego just finished a residency at The Cosmopolitan in Vegas and are returning for another 5 night residency there in May.

Robert DeLong at Dim Mak Studios Tonight!

If you're rocking Hollywood tonight - consider Dim Mak Studios. Young entertainer Robert DeLong has his multifaceted set in the house for some electro-rock CrayBans business. Don't know who he is? Find out -

He definitely rocked Dim Mak's party at SUPERGOODMUSIC's BandPage HQ at SXSW. My guess is he will do the same again tonight off of Hollywood Blvd.

That Triple R Threat - Robert Raimon Roy

Had the pleasure of witnessing a Robert Raimon Roy set at BandPage HQ late night on St. Patrick's Day and the dude killed it. Having graduated from syncopated rap styles and swag rap to a more sophisticated look, a little bit of singing and flexible rap vocals - he delivered one of the most impressive performances I caught down in Austin.

I am excited to see what he puts out next - because last I heard from him was "Little Egypt Wavy" - a synthy, drum heavy hip-hop and soul blend that has a wicked video.

Catch him performing a track at BandPage HQ in Austin too.

Miike Snow New Video for "The Wave"/ Physical Record Out In 1 Week

Miike Snow's highly anticipated sophomore album, Happy To You, sees its physical release on March 27, 2012 - although you can already acquire the record digitally.

To promote their effort, the act teamed up to make a series of music videos with Swedish director Andreas Nillson - who has worked with MGMT, Fever Ray and others. The video series revolves around a character Jean Noel - a manufactured proto-human that is supposed to be perfect. This new video for "The Wave" takes off where "Paddling Out" ended - when Jean crashed a spaceship into a planet looking like Earth. Check it out....

Madeon Makes More Magic - "Night Out (Remix)"

The young producer prodigy Madeon just premiered his delicious remix of Martin Solveig's "Night Out" on BBC1. After rocking some amazing SXSW shows (so I'm told - I didn't get to see) - we get a sample of some of his dance floor magic in the form of this synth-berg dance remix.

I don't know when the official release drops - but snatch it up when it does.

Final Night of SXSW/Check Out Grape Vinyl

SXSW 2012 was amazing and exhausting. #BandPageHQ hosted by SUPERGOODMUSIC (@supergoodmusic), Heard Entertainment (heardent) and of course Bandpage (@bandpage) really rocked out - especially on its last night with The Service Company, Warp Records and Brainfeeder.

At the end of it all, SUPERGOODMUSIC founder Brandon Dorsky took a flight back from San Antonio to LA via Southwest. In a serendipitous turn of events, Kunal Anand - the creator of Grape Vinyl, one of the more awesome video blogs out there these days, sat down in the middle seat next to him and a friendship was born.

If you didn't know about Grape Vinyl - its delivering new music video nuggets on a regular basis. This is a blog that is doing it right and looks good too. It even led me to stuff I should have already discovered myself - like this trippy cartoony Neon Indian "Fallout" video released in early February.

How I missed it - I don't know. But Grape Vinyl didn't - and that's the point. I respect this blog and this blogger. Check out the video blog here and follow Kunal.

SXSW = fun.

Been down in Austin for the past few days and the streets are filled with people of all shapes, colors, creeds and occupations. Music and technology is the thread that ties us all together - and musicians come here to weave themselves into that fabric.

One band having a recent catastrophic shake up to their impact on the culture-sphere is fun. Their track "We Are Young" has catapulted up Billboard charts and quickly become a cult favorite....so much so that everyone from Bing to Stubbs wants them to play their events in Austin. They were the subject of New York Times cover Arts section cover article, the topic of much discussion at SXSW and quickly everyone's favorite new band.

Apparently the act played Bing last night. If you missed the opportunity to feel young again, they play the Warehouse at 1100 5th Street on Wednesday, Friday at Stubbs and probably a few other places. Check out their video for "We Are Young" feat. Janelle Monae below and also "Some Nights."

Party Hard with Andrew WK for 10th Anniversary of "I Get Wet"

Party amplifier Andrew WK brings his raging antics to Avalon this Thursday for the 10 year Anniversary Tour of his I Get Wet album. He will be playing the album in its entirety, something he'd never done prior to embarking on the tour, and that only increases the likelihood that his performance will be truly epic.

The song "I Get Wet" alone is a great Andrew WK experience. Check him out performing it at the Gibson Showroom in Beverly Hills, CA. Now just imagine him doing the whole album....

Gracing Avalon's stage on the 8th and The Glass House in Pomona on the 10th - Andrew WK is delivering L.A. a double dose of his party drugs....himself. If you've never seen a performance - its beyond music, its an experience. He played our 2010 SXSW party and it was redonkulous - I was truly exhausted afterward. His energy radiates from the stage, his enthusiasm infects the dance floor and, when he is at the helm, the anticipation is always high because you just never know what WK will do.

But you can find out - go rage with the King of Partying this Thursday at Avalon. If you're lucky - you'll get to do that courtesy of SUPERGOODMUSIC.com and Avalon. Just tweet out @supergoodmusic @livenation_LA and @andrewwk or send us a kind email to contest@supergoodmusic.com claiming why you should be the one to get down with the legend this Thursday.

Bringing LA Steeze to Austin: The Roxy Presents Austin Rox

Oh yes...in less than 48 hours SUPERGOODMUSIC begins its annual trek to SXSW. For 2012 - we decided to go HAM with our pals Heard Entertainment and RootMusic. We've got a venue for 9 days at 604 and 606 E. 7th Street with lots of crazy talent to make your body move, head spin and keep your ears happy. AND the announcements are just starting to roll out....including this epic one.

We couldn't be more proud to be partnered with The Roxy, one of the highlights of LA's live music culture, on their Austin Rox event on Thursday March 15, 2012. AustinRox is typically one of my highlights of SXSW too - so Nic Adler and crew are obviously doing something right. I remember 2010 when Tom Morello straight raged Rusty's with Boots Riley, and last year with Neon Trees, Saint Motel and more.

Check out the insanity they've brought for 2012 on the flyers above and below. The show includes Das Racist, Doomtree, Prof, The Stone Foxes, Nico Vega, Imagine Dragons, Shinobi Ninja, Fillager, The Peach Kings and more! You can RSVP here. http://roxy.la/austinrox5

Speaking of The Peach Kings - they just participated in a wild and crazy Jam In The Van shoot that SUPERGOODMUSIC participated in. Check out their automobile friendly version of "Thieves and Kings"

The Peach Kings - "Thieves and Kings" from Jam in the Van on Vimeo.

And did I mention the Roxy is bringing in the Silent Disco for our patio stage with Jeremy Sole and more providing the headphone soundtrack? Well - thats happening too.

Los Angeleno rapper Azad Right has more than just flow, he's got a lot of swagger too. It shines on this rip of The XX. Indeed "Its All Right."

Bleeding Knees Club: New Video & Bootleg Show

New era upbeat indie punk band Bleeding Knees Club's music video for "Nothing To Do" tells a tale of two bored high schoolers shooting dice outside their local convenient store before going on a zany broomstick ride. A strange message from "BOOBS" and what appears to be a bad acid trip takes them on an adventure to shoot trees, defeat a forest dwelling, drum bashing demon and then rob a restrained co-ed.

Catch these crazy teens live at Bootleg Theater on March 10th!
