Los Angeles Tonight (May 29, 2013)

Rockers on the rise Imagine Dragons invade Hollywood Palladium for the first of two consecutive nights with help from Nico Vega and The Envy Corps on Wednesday.  West on Sunset you’ll find the soul of crooner Bilal at Roxy Theatre and emerging newcomer Jez Dior, whose "Candles" track you might remember from a few months back, at The Viper Room.    Junip, On and On and Barbarossa at Troubadour should deliver some tasty audible pleasures too.

Catching Dustbowl Revival close out their residency at The Mint will most definitely be a party – so if you like some raucous rooty blues and jazz, check it out.    Kastle’s eclectic and eccentric electronic stylings travel to Low End Theory at Airliner where he is joined by regulars Daddy Kev, Nobody and Nocando as well as Odd Future crew's Mike G.

We have tickets to give away for both Bilal and Dustbowl Revival - so hit us on twitter with a shout out or email contest@supergoodmusic.com to get in on the action.  Full list of tonight's shows below

Tonight in L.A. (October 18, 2012)

Staring at the concert calendar has me a bit jealous that I'm in NYC for CMJ as there is a handful of sonic dopeness hitting you Los Angelenos tonight.

From the massive wobble and bass drops of Bassnectar, Gramatik and Gladkill at Hollywood Palladium to the free indie sounds of Diamond Rings at Amoeba Records - Thursday night is looking good.

The lucky and informed patrons of Troubadour will be indulged by the lovely ZZ Ward - as she headlines a sold out show just two days after the release of her record.  AB & The Sea and Jared Lee support.  Another lovely vocalist - Twin Shadow takes his talent to Fonda Theatre with support from Haim and KCRW's Mario Cotto.  Can't go wrong their either.

For those that work traditional hours and thus might miss Diamond Rings free show at Amoeba - have no fear, they play Mayan later at night with Stars.    While there is not much other music to catch in the downtown neighborhood - head up the 101 to Silverlake or Echo Park and you 'll find The Whigs and The Record Company rocking the Bootleg Bar, comedian Neil Hamburger celebrating 5 years of laughter with friends at The Satellite and Echoplex busting open their new Thursday night FREE speakeasy.

Other notables include Kendrick Lamar at Fox Theater in Pomona, Los Campesinos! at El Rey Theatre and the weekly VS dance party at The Central SAPC.   We're giving away a pair of tickets for Los Campesinos! so holler at contest@supergoodmusic.com or shout us out on twitter if you're interested.   For a full list of shows - see below.

Skrillex Invades L.A. (Late January 6 Show Run)

Grammy award nominee Skrillex (does that sound weird to anyone else?) descends on Los Angeles and New York City from his dubstep mothership to party with friends and label mates ten more times before the Grammy ceremonies get under way.

The five time nominee won't be playing alone, he has recruited some heavy-hitting dubsteppers and signees to his OWSLA label to join him. The ten date run features a host of intimate gatherings that will be limited to those that act early (tickets go on sale for L.A. Live tomorrow at 10 am) and those in Skrillex's personal circle. You'll be lucky to get into any show in L.A., because given Sonny Moore's massive rise in stardom, Dim Mak Studios, Echoplex and Avalon just won't be able to contain the demand. The Palladium probably won't even be able to handle it - I imagine that will sell out rapidly too.

In total, he rages through Los Angeles for six straight nights beginning on January 24th at Dim Mak Studios for their weekly Dim Mak Tuesday party. He will be joined by Alvin Risk and Koan Sound. My guess is there won't be free alcohol to get you in the door early that night...

The real treat of the run is probably Wednesday the 25th at Echoplex where he plays a Skrillex vs. 12th Planet show, along with Diplo. When 12th Planet is essentially the least recognizable artist on your bill, and that bill takes place in Los Angeles, you know the show is going to be massive.

Thursday he takes on exchange with OWSLA signee Zedd, and Friday he moves to Avalon for Control with Huoratron and Kill The Noise. After that, its two less intimate nights at Palladium and L.A. Live Event Deck respectively. The latter offers guest spots from Benga, Nadastrom and other special guests TBA.

If you're not already amped for this - I don't know what you're drinking or you just hate dubstep, or both. Don't sleep in tomorrow if you're a Los Angeleno. Get up at 10 am and make sure you get some of those damn tickets!

New Yorkers, check your local listings, but he tackles the Big Apple with four shows over five nights, including a show at Terminal 5 with Skream & Benga, KOAN Sound and Tokimonsta on February 4th.

Deadmau5 Makes History at Hollywood Palladium (post by ZSE)

Deadmau5 is making history at the Hollywood Palladium starting tonight as he performs four straight nights at the Hollywood, California venue. This should be an awesome weekend with killer performances from the eclectic-sounding Canadian DJ. The shows from August 25-27 are already sold out but hurry on over to ticketmaster to buy tickets for the Sunday August 28th show.

With new production on the tour - including an upgraded cube show - I'm truly excited to see Joel Zimmerman return to L.A.

Above is video of Deadmau5 performing "Sofi Needs A Ladder" live in London. Below are my five favorites from Deadmau5 including a song that came out a couple weeks ago ("Professional Griefers").

Deadmau5 - Professional Griefers

Deadmau5 - Alone With You

Deadmau5 - Raise Your Weapons

Deadmau5 - Some Chords

Deadmau5 - Maths

Here's the Deadmau5 tour schedule.
