Prob Cause Gonna Knock You Out - "Flex"

Rising Chicago hip-hop artist Prob Cause is back in the music ring for another bout - this time delivering "Flex."  The second single off of his forthcoming "Recipe" project - showcases Prob midwest repping with clever metaphors and, in classic Chicago fashion, a varying flow speed.

Prob Cause breaks it down for his hometown this weekend at North Coast Music Festival as well as a stop in Bloomington on August 30th with another midwestern spitter - Machine Gun Kelly.  L.A. gets the privilege of another Prob Cause visit in early October for Filter's Culture Collide Festival; start training for the event by watching the video and copping Recipe (featuring Rockie Fresh, YP and more) when it is released this coming Labor Day weekend.

"Flex" video was directed by Elijah Alvarado and High Ambition.

Pacific Festival Preview: Poolside

Fun and water loving "daytime disco" act - Poolside - bring their talents to the beach this coming weekend at Pacific Festival.  Before they get their feet in the sand they also make a pit stop at The Echo on Wednesday night.  You can still get tickets to the former by clicking here (use code supergoodmusic for a $5 discount), but The Echo show is more or less sold out (there will be a few walk ups allowed).

And its sold out with good reason as the increasingly popular duo have been riding a wave since the release of "Pacific Standard Time" in July.   The summer smanger includes the chilled out, slo-mo electrogaze "Slow Down", their original hit "Do You Believe?" and 14 other juicy tracks highlighted by shiny synths, based-out chill grooves, lo-fi vocals and infused with that SoCal ethos and chill swagger that makes it the perfect soundtrack for hanging out next to a pool....

Weapons of Audio Premier Peruvian Pan Flute Beatbox on Jam In The Van

Fresh off the presses and straight out the fryer, Weapons of Audio dropped another hot piece of content today – “Life Goes” - the second acoustic video from their Jam In The Van sessions.   The poetic tale of life’s trials and tribulations features the premier of the Peruvian pan flute beatbox and continues the brother’s trend of creating a unique blend of soul, hip-hop and indie rock ethos.  Although it’s a live version,  Weapons of Audio crush another new track from their forthcoming untitled EP.

They’ll also be crushing stages this week –starting with Echoplex on Monday August 27th at Check Yo Ponytail 2 along with Tokimonsta, The Very Best and Jonwayne and then Labor Day weekend at City Stock Festival hosted by the great Jeff Miller (Black Crystal Wolf Kids).   Get your tickets for Check Yo Ponytail here

You can catch another Weapons of Audio video from JITV (included below) as well as many other videos from rising artists around the country.  Make sure the Jam Van can keep making mobile music content by voting for them in this Samsung Startup Thrillist contest here.

SSMF - Day 1 Recap of The Doors/Day 2 - Rap on The Strip

Sunset Strip Music Festival 2012 is now well under way...

A serious tribute to The Doors, which included Ray Manzarek playing a keys solo on "Light My Fire" as if he'd never play again, upped the bar on this still young festival.   Joined by a parade of musicians including Billy Morrison, Matt Sorum, Mark McGrath, Emily Armstrong (Dead Sara), Linda Perry and Franky Perez - as well as Door's members Bobby Krieger and John Densmore - the third SSMF launched with a big blast off.

Early close time at the Tribute meant other Sunset Strip enclaves opened their doors to the parade of festival-goers for the likes of Lady Sinatra at The Viper Room, Peter Murphy at The Roxy and more.  Finding my way over to The Viper Room - Murphy's vocals pierced the air for a crowded house of rock fanatics and I got spent on a bit of a Roxy family celebration.  Big shout outs to @nicadler for not only operating one of L.A.'s top venues and being so hospitable, but for also playing such an instrumental role in bringing the entire Sunset Strip Music Festival (@ssmf) together.

Tonight Festival goers can grab a healthy dosage of hip-hop - from Hollywood scene rapper Mickey Avalon at The Viper Room to the Shaolin stylings of RZA at Key Club.  RZA will be joined by rising Jewish MC and freestyle entertainer - Kosha Dillz - so make sure to get their early....

Peep videos from RZA, Mickey and Kosha Dillz here.

Snack, Snack, Snack, Crunch!

This music video makes you long for more child-fueled entertainment like the 4th season of the Wire, and has you itching to get your snack on at the same time.  It even has me wanting some Taki's and some red stained fingers.   Cheers to whomever within the Y.N RichKids crew inspired this idea ... now where are my Hot Cheetos and Taki's though?

Rock The Bells 2012

Saturday marks the launch of the 9th annual Rock The Bells Festival - as it returns to San Bernardino's NOS Events Center for the first of three weekends around the country.  The hip-hop mega fest is slated to deliver a hefty dosage of current heavyweights, veterans and artists who are clearly on their grind.

From the opening words of Dom Kennedy on Saturday to the final verse from Nas on Sunday - Los Angelenos and hip-hop heads from far and wide can rejoice in a celebration of the culture and some undoubtable surprises.  Some of those we can spoil for you - like the fact that Biz  Markie will join DJ Lance Rock (of Yo Gabba Gabba), Saafir and Ras Kaas reunite wth Xzibit for a special Golden State Warriors performance and Psycho Realm opens up Paid Dues Stage!  Staring into my crystal ball of festival forecasting - I also predict a few guest appearances from Travis Barker (Yelawolf), Kosha Dillz (some stage somewhere with RZA) and Chip Tha Ripper (Kid Cudi) are bound to happen....

The full official line-up includes all of the following: Kid Cudi, J Cole, DMX + Eve, Method Man + Redman, KRS - One, Nas, Wiz Khalifa, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Ice Cube, Xzibit, Golden State Warriors, Kid Ink, E-40 (& Too Short, Deltron 3030, Chief Keef, Machine Gun Kelly, Atmosphere, Killer Mike, El-P, Immortal Technique, Casey Veggies, Dipset, Kendrick Lamar (w/ Black Hippy), Common, 2 Chainz, Tyga, Yelawolf, Future, Dom Kennedy, Jadakiss, Wu Blok, Naughty By Nature, Curren$y, Prodigy, Zion I, Grouch, Eligh, Sean Price, Watsky, Black Knights, Salt-N-Pepa, DJ Quik, Big Daddy Kane, Mix Master Mike, DJ Lance Rock & Friends , I Self Devine, Slim Da Mobster, and Psycho Realm.

You can cop your tickets at www.rockthebells.com and check out a word about the festival from one of its creators - Chang Weisberg.

Motivate The Vote

As much as we at SUPERGOOD love a political debate - no one in our office is a politician, political strategist or works in political social media.  BUT we do have political conversations, ideas for our country and lots of political disenchantment - which is why it is refreshing to see artists come to rally and motivate the vote.  Using artists as a vehicle to deliver a political message isn't anything new - but EDM and DJ's as the message's conduit wasn't around during Woodstock....

We're not here to tell you who to vote or not vote for - but we do like to promote informed voting and progress for our nation.  Check out what these DJ's have to say about voting for Obama.

Tomorrow night mashup superheroes - The Hood Internet - bring their crunkity collaborative jams to the dance floors of The Central SAPC, just a night after wrecking Detroit Bar...

The Chicago based duo's been critically acclaimed for the treatment of pop, indie, hip-hop and electro music alike as they frequently release hypem.com chart topping blends that make their way to most college frat party playlists.  From taking Drake and layering him over Miike Snow to cutting up Wale over M83, this duo's recipe is usually the mash up version of Emeril Lagasse - BAM!  And they've smacked you with their signature sounding hot sauce.

Download some Hood Internet tracks from their website here and peep a few more below.  Get tickets to The Central SAPC here.   Tanya Morgan and Psalm One support.

Warning - show is likely to sell out, so cop them while you can!  Try entering our contest for a pair of tickets by tweeting out @supergoodmusic @thecentralsapc or emailing contest@supergoodmusic.com if you can't afford it or are feeling lucky....

Porter Robinson Releases "Language" Video

Just watch and enjoy.  Want to go on an adventure?  Just sit back and enjoy Porter Robinson's latest music video - the official one for "Language."  The shots and effects are spectacular - which only makes the song feel that much more epic.  The falling on each release and bass drop is a nice editing touch - and by the end of the video - it feels like you just finished Neverending Story.

Props to Porter on this one.
