Tonight in L.A. (January 24, 2013)

Finally back in Los Angeles for more than five minutes - which means SUPERGOOD will be hitting the pavement, NAMM and venue bars to indulge in the finest of musical offerings.    Tonight - its time to go underground for some classic hip-hop.

Former Def Jux act, Cannibal Ox reunite for a performance at The Roxy that celebrates more than a decade since the release of Cold Vein.  They've been joined nationally by Chicago veteran rapper Keith Masters, whose "Game Day: Pt II" has been a football friendly synch all year long - but in LA the show gets an extra dosage of street from the illest Jewish rapper in Koreatown - Kosha Dillz.  To participate in a contest to get on the guest list - tweet out @theroxy @supergoodmusic @koshadillz @keithmasters #cannibaloxreuniontour - and maybe you'll win a pair of tickets!

On the westside, there is more underground chemistry, but of the electronic and beat variety in the form of Break Science's late show at The Central SAPC.  They're joined by Continuum (jobot Live) - doors are at 10.

Muse rocks Staples Center for proper if you are looking for an entertainment spectacle.  Support from Band of Skulls means it should be solid from opening to close.

Kaskade is invading downtown Los Angeles in July on his Freaks of Nature Tour.  July 27, 2012 at Staples Center to be exact.

The promo video at least has to get you slightly hyped.   If you caught him in Sahara and the dancing buildings on screen - you were probably sonically and visually stunned.   The sensory onslaught continues this summer as the EDM takeover takes residence in the Lakers household.  I'm certain you probably won't find a better party that night - at least not a more energetic one.  With tickets reasonably priced at the low cost of $20 - you can expect that Staples will get CRAYBANS.

Don't miss out.  Cop your tickets here if you want to guarantee your entry.  Tune back into @supergoodmusic frequently to figure out how you can win some tickets from us for free or just sign up for our CONCERT BLAST newsletter at http://www.jaminthevan.com/blast.html to access more chances to win free tickets!

OMFG - BOWIE IS BACK!

Now, I may have been fooled by someone else's April Fools post, but given it is One Thirty BPM as the source - I am going to cross my fingers and hope for the best. This would mean that yes, it is finally f'ing true, David Bowie is going to hit the road again.

Not as a surprise Coachella guest or even next years headliner. Rather, Bowie is boasting afinal farewell episode of 12 shows in some of the worlds biggest cities - including London, Madrid, Rome, Berlin and 6 lucky locations in the United States.

Not only will Bowie be closing the dozen show run in Los Angeles at The Staples Center on August 10, 2012, it is rumored that Trent Reznor will bring the Nine Inch Nails out of retirement to support the legend. Talk about an amazing bill of talent!

Tickets will only be available via phone in at 1-800-277-3665 starting at 1 pm. Please for the love of god this better not be a hoax.

Watch The Grammys - its the Best Live Music in Town Tonight

We could advise you to go to various places in town tonight to catch the potential next big thing or just to hear a smooth crooner or some sexy guitar, however, we don't think that is where you'd witness the best and most supergood music there is to see on this last Sunday of January.

Actually, this is one of the few times we are going to advise you to stay home. Stay there and watch the Grammys. Maybe leave to go to Target to get yourself some 3D specs to enjoy the Michael Jackson tribute performance to the fullest, but maybe you saved yours from Avatar and are hoping those work.

If the Grammy's are too mainstream for you or you just want to DVR them for time porting so that you can skip commercials and enjoy a Sunday on the town, then here is who is playing and where they are playing:

Anderszewski Plays Beethoven (2PM), Los Angeles Master Chorale: Almost A Capella (7PM) @ Hollywood Bowl
Major Johnson-Finley (7PM), Katie Costello (8PM), Wesley Smith (9PM) @ Room 5
Live Footage with Knife and Fork, Tango Nuevo and Guests @ Echo Curio
Supernova.com Presents: Band Wars @ On The Rox
Part Time Punks Presents: Depeche Mode Night @ Echo
Neil Hamburger, JP Incorporated, Brendon Walsh @ Spaceland
387 Entertainment Presents @ The Mint
High Voltage Presents: Solo Clique, The Diamond Light, Girl Next Door @ The Viper Room
Makana, Jerry Joseph, Elina @ Saint Rocke
Marques Wyatt @ Vanguard
Michael Sheppard @ Staples Center
David Lindley @ The Roxy
Ivan and Alyosha, Brown Sugar Sinks, Greg Jong @ Bootleg
House of Blues Gospel Brunch @ House of Blues
