SAINT MOTEL IS PLAYING THE SUPERGOODMUSIC SHOWCASE IN AUSTIN - MARCH 16th

I love, love, love Saint Motel. Not only are the quartet some of the coolest, nicest, most fun guys I've ever met - but their music is infectiously good. Everything off their first EP is delicious - including the original of "Dear Dictator."

In this video that song gets the treatment from Sam Sparro and Saint Motel's vocalist/guitarist AJ took on the role of director of the music video. I was actually on set for some of the shoot at the club formerly known as Cinespace and even have a very brief cameo (look for a green hat). Although they won't be performing the remix, you can almost count on the original or at least something off of the For Play EP down at SXSW.

Saint Motel are performing at a few different parties - but you'd be foolish to miss them at ours. They'll be in a headlining position and I have no doubts that they will rock the hell out of our stage at Lipstick 24 at 606 East 7th Street in Austin, TX on Wednesday March 16th.

Look for our eventbrite RSVP page soon - but for now, you can RSVP here.

Electro Jump Off Tonight in LA

There are some wild, wild, wild electronic/dance themed music events going on tonight in Los Angeles - but two that are in contention for hottest ticket of the night (IMO).

I'm talking about the return of Check Yo Ponytail at Echoplex and The Steves Birthday at Dim Mak Tuesdays at Cinespace.

Check Yo Ponytail 2 comes to Echoplex with Midnight Juggernauts, The Naked & Famous, Doorly and Diamond Rings for its very first installment. The event, being hosted by Franki Chan's IHEARTCOMIX and Danny United's Media Contender, is already slated to go down every other Tuesday - with some equally heavy line-ups to follow in the coming weeks.

That said - it is probably a safe bet that these two fun powerhouses won't disappoint their first night crowd. They likely have brought in some unspecified guest or guests for an appearance, not to mention their own banging crews.

Just a little bit West, you might expect Dim Mak to host just an ordinary DMT at Cinespace during the week that many L.A. transplants return home, BUT they are doing anything but - bringing in heavy hitter Etienne De Crecy at 11 pm to ignite Steve Aoki's birthday party. With a publicized statement from Dim Mak stating "you will probably never see these guests together in one night, so close" - it is kind of tough to not be curious who these special acts might be.

If curiosity is killing you, I highly recommend you rush to Cinespace and do whatever is necessary to get into the sold out event - if you are an LCD Soundsystem and/or James Murphy fan, you may just be happy you did it because there is a rumor circulating that James Murphy might actually be in the house at one of these events!

Not only are these two bad ass line-ups and some guaranteed parties, but if either includes an impromptu performance from Mr. Murphy somewhere tonight, I would literally steal your Thanksgiving dinner to be there....

Kele After Party at Cinespace

After Kele from Bloc Party and Does It Offend You Yeah? tear up the stage at The Music Box down the block, their entourage and indie-electro dance fans will march down Hollywood Blvd. to Cinespace for Dim Mak Tuesdays. Not only are the guys from Does It Offend You Yeah spinning a late night set, but resident DJs Dan Oh and Them Jeans will be too, while Donnis and Theophilus London will be performing to the hipster crowd.

Dim Mak usually brings the heat on any given Tuesday, but tonight's line-up is just the absolute fire. We highly recommend you go to this. You can RSVP for a discount by emailing dimmaktuesdays@dimmak.com

Midnight Juggernauts in Town for 2 Nights!

The fun party that is Midnight Juggernauts swings into town tonight at Echoplex and tomorrow at Cinespace (for Dimmak Tuesdays). You may recall some of their anthems from the 2008 album Dystopia, like "Shadows" which you've heard often and just didn't know the title of. Check out the video here.

But, their tour is truly in support of their soon to be released follow up Crystal Axis. Their 2 LA plays to kick off this week are their last stops stateside before they head back home to Australia for a series of August shows. Don't miss your last chance to potentially get dirty with the Juggernauts in California in 2010!

Walk Up Limited Tonight

Take note everyone, the walk up for tonight's Dimmak Tuesday show at Cinespace tonight is severely limited. They did a presale for the wild bill tonight because they new demand would be high and they were spot on as the presale tickets have sold out.

Cinespace will be hosting the traditional open bar every hour and half hour, but I imagine supplies will be drank early as Chiddy Bang, 2 Am Club and The Pack are all scheduled to play. It is basically the sold out Mike Posner show from Key Club a few weeks back sans Mike Posner and with The Pack instead of the previously reported Bad Rabbits....but you never know what might happen :)

Expect a pack venue, but also some amazing music. If anyone has an extra, holler at me at 310-592-2094 because I'd love to go, I slept on presale tickets, I don't have a hook up at Dimmak and there is no way I can go early to wait in line.

DIMMAK ROCKS EVERY TUESDAY LIKE NOBODY ELSE DOES...

Check out who is playing in town below - but if you want our advice...just go to Cinespace. Every Tuesday, week in and week out, Dimmak throws it down with some of the best in the business. They had Kid Cudi and Dan Black in but a mere few weeks ago. I was introduced to the awesomeness that is Ebony Bones there...and if you are lucky you've caught people from the Daft Punk crew there before. Plus - there is always the likely Steve Aoki spotting.

Anyhow, we're thinking of going to a comedy club...and then to Cinespace for DIMMAK Tuesdays. Tonight - free drinks at the top of every hour for 5 minutes - so come thirsty (and ready to wait in a line). Resident DJs Them Jeans and Dan Oh will be in full effect - plus some very special guests - one of those being Stereheroes.
