Tonight in L.A. (February 25, 2013)

Post Oscar hangovers give rise to the realization that it is actually a full work week this week.  And while that seems daunting, finding some quality act to see this Monday night in Los Angeles is not.  With some great residencies closing the books on their February run - it might be wise to catch those weekly parties before they change casts.

The Mowgli's enlisted The Diamond Light, Zak Waters, Lisa Donnelly and DJ Jason Kramer to end things at The Satellite on a high note.  A House for Lions did the same by recruiting Max and The Moon, The Peach Kings and The Cerny Brothers.   Dance party starter Mystery Skulls hauled in Ghost Beach, Gangplans and DJ Holloweyed to Bootleg Bar to end his run there.

Elsewhere Hunnypot Radio broadcasts out of The Central SAPC with a tasty set from rising indie electro pop rockers Mind The Gap, Del The Funky Homosapien drops some FREE raps on the Slidebar crowd, Jeff Garlin makes people laugh as he converses with Aziz Ansari at Largo and last but not least, Chief and Warships deliver a dosage of indie to It's A School Night at Bardot.

Tonight in L.A. (December 10, 2012)

Its another week of holiday parties and scrambling to make sure you see everyone before they leave town and enter the entertainment industry dark weeks.  Perhaps you'll find them at the Hurricane Sandy comedy benefit going on downtown at Club Nokia with the likes of Will Ferrell, Aziz Ansari, Sarah Silverman and more.  Or maybe a local concert like Jhameel's residency at Bootleg with support from the feisty up and coming indie-dance act Mind The Gap?  Or maybe they'll be Robert Raimon Roy's record release party at The Standard Hollywood (listening begins at 10:15?  Or maybe they'll be somewhere else....

If its somewhere else I might recommend Eastern Conference Champions and Bixby Knolls at The Echo, because its free or Bonhom, Diwon, E-Train, Palter Ego and Neutron at The Central SAPC because its festive and lots of jewish artists will be celebrating with Hannukah performances.

Tonight in L.A. (October 30, 2012)

Its Halloween eve - so repress your costumes and embrace them for the second to last time of 2012.  Tonight there are a host of events to choose from - including traditional Halloween style shenanigans like The Rocky Horror Picture Show at Yost Theater or a costume dance party, like at Dim Mak Studios.

Close to Dim Mak, Miike Snow along with Niki & The Dove lay down some sexy tunes - so maybe hit up the Hollywood Palladium before closing down Dim Mak.  Another worthy Halloween eve concert is Cadence Weapon at The Satellite - where he is joined by Fat Tony and Subtitle for a night of eclectic hip-hop.

An unexpected Halloween treat comes in the form of Aziz Ansari and friends who roll out laughter at Largo for an Obama Benefit.

Other notables include Bob Mould at El Rey Theatre, The New Limb at The Central SAPC (for FREE) and BuzzBands 4 Year + Anniversary party at Federal Bar with Voxhaul Broadcast, Gliss and more.

Bonnaroo Announcement Courtesy of ESPN's John Anderson

With festival announcements, line-ups and promo getting cooler and quirkier every year - Bonnaroo made sure that they continue to set the standard by recruiting ESPN anchor John Anderson to assist on their announcement.

Relishing in former non-existent band glory, Anderson delivers a few funny words before the video goes all synthed out and cartoony with the list of artists performing at Bonnaroo 2012. Hard to imagine them topping their 10th anniversary line-up - but they may have done it with this one!
