Music Monday in Los Angeles.

The last week of January kicks off with a handful of good live events. You'll find me kicking it at Hunnypot Radio early on as the station potentially hosts one of its last radio events at the Hunnypot House (8926 1/2 National). The guys are considering relocating to a venue - so all you venues who want a cool radio show to be broadcast from within your walls, considering hitting up Hunnypot's John Anderson to discuss a possible collabo.

After Hunnypot, there is a good chance I go to Carbon for Funkmosphere and wait around until 11:30/midnight to catch the break-dancing crews that roll through. IF I'm feeling a little more indie or a little too impatient, I will probably head to Echo to see The French Semester's final installment of their January residency. Their performance has improved considerably in the last 6-8 months and 2010 may be their year to shine. They've got some gigs set up for February already - but if you're cheap, than tonight would be the night to see them.

If I didn't already have all these competing obligations, I definitely would be considering going to Largo for the Love & Haiti Benefit Show. The opportunity to see Sarah Silverman, Aziz Ansari and Ed Helms all perform in the same night is kind of too good to pass up. Helms cameo last week on Conan was absolutely hilarious - and I can only imagine what sort of comedic gems these all-stars have saved for this event.

If you feel driving a ways, Girls are playing at Detroit Bar in Costa Mesa. Detroit Bar is an amazing venue and the Girls could easily tear the house down. I heard good things about their performance in LA at the Troubadour, but I unfortunately missed it. If you're a huge fan or you are near Detroit Bar - it would be wise to check it out.
