Mr. Hudson Has Arrived

I had the privilege of going to the Troubadour last night to see Mr. Hudson perform for the first time in the states.

With his soon to be smash hit Supernova primed to hit all the US markets over the next few weeks, I was particularly excited to see the Brit's live chops.  Despite suffering from some sort of illness, the man surely delivered.

Him and his band, formerly known as Mr. Hudson & The Library, arrived on stage in all white garb - including Mr. Hudson and Mikey, the bassists, white hair.  Too match their bright outfits, the stage was outfitted with several light stands that projected throughout the show.  The crew wasted no time in getting into their anthemic Brit-hip-pop grooves.  Hudson's stage presence was impressive and the band was a well rounded crew of skilled musicians (most impressive being the drummer).

Although the band is not in the states for long, you can only imagine that this appearance is just the first of many.  Having been signed to Kanye West's G.O.O.D. Music label, and working with both him and Shaker Heights native Kid Cudi, Mr. Hudson is poised to be heard and accepted by mainstream audiences all across America.
