Rock royalty Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers kick off their 5 night stand at the Fonda Theatre tonight. TP and the HBs just wrapped 5 nights of shows at New York's Beacon Theatre and word is, the guys haven't been this fired up in years. Petty has shelved his jukebox classics for some deeper cuts and interesting covers on this run of shows.
Everyone's favorite indie singer-songwriter, Pete Yorn, debuts his new band The Olms at the Troubadour this evening.
If you blew all your cash this weekend you're still in luck. Two free residency nights with some great young bands start tonight.
First, Orange County's Hindu Pirates launch their June residency at the Echo with support from The Blank Tapes, Beach Party and Rainbow Jackson. (You'll be able to check out a Hindu Pirates JITV session very soon).
Burger Record's Summer Twins also start their residency at the Bootleg Theatre tonight with help from Michael Rey and the Woebegones and Heroes and Heroines. (You'll be able to check out a Summer Twins JITV session soon as well).
