Tonight in L.A. (October 16, 2012)

Lots of options for you LA music mavens tonight.  A lucky few are going to Ellie Goulding's intimate show at Troubadour with opening soundscapes served courtesy of queen beat-tress Tokimonsta.

If I weren't (hopefully) kicking it with Tokimonsta, Ellie Goulding and fam - I'd probably be going to Bryan Linares' birthday party at Dim Mak Studios.  The Dim Mak employee (or IC i don't know) - celebrates his aging with beats served courtesy of Them Jeans, Dan Oh and special guests.  You've got to assume one of those guests could be Aoki if he is in LA and I'd put my money on someone else stellar too.  Get dirty on their dance floor birthday style...

Or celebrate the sounds of Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers at The Satellite for free with lots of local artists doing their best impersonations.   Free indie on the westside comes to you at The Central SAPC in the form of Go West Young Man, Warships and The Steel Wells.  Neither show would be a bad choice -  but if you want to pay for some rockers - try Freelance Whales and Geographer at El Rey Theatre or Terraplane Sun at Dakota Lounge if you're on the westside.
